Topic: Development of reaction concepts for the production of oxymethylene ether.
Aim: Energyefficient conversion and separation of oxymethylene ether.
Current work: Oxymethylene ether (OME) are used for fuel and polymer applications. In both fields the properties of OMEs show a high potential. For example OMEs are able to break the soot-NOx scissors which is essential in diesel vehicles. The amount of OME which is necessary to support the diesel vehicles is huge. The wide application in vehicles requires a large scale production of the OMEs. Therefore, the process needs to be very efficient in reaction and downstream. The work in this field offers an insight in the technical chemistry from the engineering as well as the chemistry side.
