In the homogeneous catalyzed application, especially in industrial scale, recycling of the catalyst is important. A common possibility to do so is multiphasic catalysis where product and catalyst are present in two different phases. These can be separated rather easily after the reaction. My research topic is the transfer of a system like this from batch scale to a continuous application in mini plant scale.
