Sorption Methods
Physisorption and chemisorption are effective methods to characterize solids.
Physisorption
For Physisorption three different apperatures can be used.
Quantachrome Quadrasorb SI
The Quadrasorb SI enables the analysis of porous materials by using gas adsorption techniques, usually N2 is used. Four parallel sample stations allow a fast and reliable characterization for a variety of materials. Besides conventional analysis tools, such as the BET or t-Plot method, modern DFT- or Monte-Carlo-Simulations can also be used to determine pore size distributions.

Quantachrome Autosorb-iQ
It is possible to perform Low pressure physisorption measurements using nitrogen (10-6 p/p0) for the analysis of surfaces. Furthermore Water vapor physisorption measurements can be conducted.
Micromeritics ASAP 2010
ASAP 2010 is a sorption apparatus for the measurement of ad- and desorptions isotherms. Sensitive pressure sensors allow the determination of micropores. Various calculation models can be used to evaluate the BET surface area, pore radius, micropore volume etc.
Chemisorption
For Chemisorption two Apperatus can be used.
Quantachrome ChemBET Pulsar TPR/TPD
Beside temperature programmed oxidation and reduction this device performs as well temperature programmed desorption of various gases for surface analytics of solids. Adsorbed amounts of Gases and accessible metal surfaces can be determined by pulse titration.

Micromeritics TPX
The Micromeritics TPX allows the temperature programmed measurement of desorption, oxidation and reduction from solids. The samples can be heated up to 1100°C, the use of different gases is possible.
